Ice Breaker:
Share a time when you tried something you saw on Pinterest / HGTV / Food / and it didn’t turn out anything like the original? How did it make you feel?
How has the internet / social media changed the way we compare ourselves with each other? What are some good things about this, and what are some dangerous things about this?
Read 2 Corinthians 3:12-13. Who was the Apostle Paul rebuking? What is he talking about with Moses? What point is he trying to make?
What is a veil you hide behind?
Read 2 Corinthians 3:14-15. What happens when we manufacture an image to manipulate what people think of us?
The people Paul was writing to were stuck in the past glory days of Judaism. Why do we often try to live in the past, live in a memory, rather than the reality of today?
Have you ever been to a memorial service and thought the person they are burying was a different person than you knew? Why is that?
Some of us don’t live in the past, we live in imagination, things will be great when ________ happens. Why do we do that? What is the danger in doing this?
Read 2 Corinthians 3:16-18. The problem with wearing a veil is it works both ways. Explain that.
How does Jesus set us free from that?
What are some things you could do this week to compare less and contemplate God more?
